Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to pay to be on the team?
Students will need to pay $40 cash or $42 through Venmo in order to join Eagle Racing. With this, students will be able to begin our team-specific shop training, participate in our races, and get whatever digital tools that we have to offer (Solidworks, the Adobe Suite, etc...). Along with this, students will receive a team shirt.

Do I have to go to the meetings?
No. Meetings are not mandatory unless you are on a design team, although continued participation in the meetings is highly suggested.

What do I need to work in the shop?
In order to get down and dirty with the team in the shop, Eagle Racing new member training is required. This training will be organized by the senior Baja members and be held in the Baja shop area. In addition to this training, it is highly suggested that Basic and Advanced training provided my Marquette University's Opus College of Engineering be taken.

What does the team do outside of the shop?
Besides working on the cars, designing cars, and talking cars, the team actually enjoys getting together on weekends to hangout and do group events. Team members frequently go to karting events, car shows, meet ups, basketball games, places to eat, and occasionally put together nights to watch the Fast and Furious movies. We're always looking for ways to meet outside as a team, so don't hesitate to bring an idea up!

Do I get to drive the car if I join?
Like most teams, you get out what you put in. If you put in a lot of work on the team and are a committed member, you will find an opportunity to drive either Eagle 4 or Eagle 3.
